TWO former Manchester United stars could stand between Bacup and the next round of the Second Division Challenge Trophy.

Brent Peters' side entertain Castleton Gabriels tonight (7.45pm start) in a re-arranged cup tie where Lee Martin and Clayton Blackmore could run out for the opposition.

Martin knows all about cup competitions, having scored the winner for United in the 1990 FA Cup final replay against Crystal Palace, while the experienced Blackmore is a former Welsh international.

The two sides were due to meet in the league on Saturday but Castleton's ground is unplayable.

Peters said: "We already have had a number of games called off, including Wednesday's match against Skelmesdale, so I wanted to make sure we had one to play this weekend so we hastily re-arranged this outstanding cup tie.

"We haven't played them this season yet and all I know about them is that both Lee Martin and Clayton Blackmore have played for them this season."

Defender Jimmy Campbell is doubtful after damaging his calf but Damian Moran in back in contention after a two week spell on the sidelines with a head injury.

Bacup are back on league duty on Tuesday when they play Nelson at West View (7.45pm).
