ERIK Meijer will be aiming to sign off in style with a goal at Watford as his loan spell at Preston comes to an end.

It's the Liverpool forward's final game of his initial seven match spell -- and he has yet to get on the scoresheet for the Deepdale side.

North End boss David Moyes has decided about Meijer's future at Deepdale -- but wouldn't say whether he was extending his loan spell although Meijer has said he would like to battle for his place at Anfield.

"I have decided but I'm not saying yet," admitted Moyes. "But any forwards would want to get goals, I'm sure Erik is no different and hopefully he will get his goal tomorrow for us."

Defenders Graham Alexander and Colin Murdock sit out the first of their three match suspensions, Blackburn have refused to let Simon Grayson go on loan to Deepdale, and this could mean a recall for former Burnley player Gary Parkinson.

But left back Rob Edwards is back after sitting out last Friday's victory over Crewe because of five bookings.

And Moyes is looking for one of his backline to make their impression on the scoresheet soon.

"The forwards are doing their job, the midfielders are chipping in with goals and I'd just like the defenders to get some goals now. They need to be getting in the right position to score as well."

Preston come up against a promotion chasing Watford side who have just suffered two defeats -- but Moyes is not scared of a backlash.

"We are doing quite well away from home, we don't fear anybody, especially with the Fulham win.

"Watford have done well under Graham Taylor. He looks like he could take them straight back up again but no one is unbeatable."
