POOL can forget their recent league disaster on Saturday , (November 18) when they face Telford United at Bloomfield Road in the first round of the FA Cup.

The Nationwide Football Coference team beat Hinckley Town 4-1 on Monday after finally managing to clear their ground of water and could provide stiff opposition to the Tangerines.

MANAGER Steve McMahon has been told he will have to sell before he can buy any new players to strengthen his squad.

Under league rules McMahon is allowed to sign one more loan player but he would have problems wanting to sign anew player.

Tony Caig, Adam Rachel, Justin Bent and Steve Garvey are currently on the transfer list but as yet the only interest shown by other clubs has been in Caig who has been in talks with Charlton Athletic.

BLACKPOOL Reserves beat Wigan Athletic Reserves 2-0 on Wednesday, (November 15) at Bloomfield Road. Mike Newell opened the scoring in the first half and Adam Nowland got the second shortly after half time. THE CLUB has announced a special discount ticket scheme wherby those who buy tickets in advance for five matches can attend the next two matches free of charge saving £20.

The games applicable in the scheme are against Darlington, Exeter City, Halifax, Cardiff City, Torquay United, York and Scunthorpe United. The tickets must be bought before the Darlington match on November 25.

POOL will find out today (Thursday) whether they will be fined for the brawl in during the Worthington Cup tie against Norwich City.

PHIL Horner has been appointed as the new physiotherapist at Bloomfield Road. He will replace Paul Kelly who has joined the staff at Blackburn Rovers.

POOL'S Christmas fixture against Cardiff City on December 30 will kick-off at 1pm following police advice. The game will be all ticket for visiting fans as will the match aginast Halifax Town on Boxing Day.

THE CLUB is to run a special Christmas competition for children.

It is asking children to write down (in no more than 30 words) why they think their parent(s) deserves the VIP treatment at Blackpool FC.

The lucky winner will win a VIP day out for their family for the Blackpool v Halifax Town match on Boxing Day.

The prize includes a pre-match three course meal, complimentary seat tickets, pictures with Steve McMahon at half time and an invitation to teh man of the match presentation after the game in the Tnagerine Club.
