THE Supporters Association's Fans' Forum that had originally been billed as the Magnificent Seven, turned out to be an evening with the Super Six!

It was somewhat disappointing that old fans' favourite, Andy Hill, was unable to make it, but, overall, the event was considered by many to be a success.

As expected, most of the questions were directed at Bury FC manager, Andy Preece, and concerned individual team selections, tactics and the recent run of poor results. Although some may feel Andy Preece's form on the pitch has dipped over the last 12 months, the same cannot be said about his ability to answer difficult questions, or address an audience.

This has gone in a direction similar to the team's early season's fortunes (last eight results apart of course!).

Baichung Bhutia, who was originally named as one of the panel, was not present due to "international commitments". His replacement was local youngster, Jason Jarrett.

Received

The other members of the panel, who all received a handful of questions each, were assistant manager Steve Redmond, community officer Andy Feeley, club captain Nicky Daws, and, from the coaching staff, the legendary John Forrest.

Overall, the audience seemed to appreciate the current financial constraints that are being placed on the manager, and there was nothing said that was too critical of anyone present.

It was refreshing to see some questions come from the junior members of the audience and Ian Fitzsimmons deserves recognition for compering the event.

The Supporters' Association will be organising another Fans' Forum near the end of the season, by which time it is hoped that things will be somewhat clearer in respect of off-field developments.

In the meantime, let's hope the players are now able to start playing as well as they talk and the current run of bad luck comes to an end.
