THE CITIZEN got a flying visit from the The Wave on December 6, as presenters and staff from the Blackpool radio station came to get some cash out of our staff.

Bring A Pound to Work Day saw presenters rushing around the Fylde Coast like mad men, calling in at workplaces all over the region to crowbar a bit of cash from their hands.

"We're aiming to raise around £10,000," explained Gary Burgess, who stopped off to interview reporters Tim Ash and Peter McLean live on air at our St Annes offices.

"It's going to be an exhausting day -- we started at nine this morning and we will be running through until nine tonight.

"But it is so much fun and the money is going to such a good cause that we're really enjoying ourselves."

All the money raised will be going towards the Macmillan Windmill Appeal.
