LISA Margaret Taylor, the daughter of former leader of Blackpool Council Ivan Taylor, was jailed for nine months at Preston Crown Court last week.
She had admitted four charges of obtaining money by deception and three of false accounting from June, 1993, to January this year.
Taylor, 31, of Troutbeck Crescent, Mereside, had claimed housing benefit, council tax benefit and income support over a period of five years.
A mother of two, she had claimed the benefits while living at an address in Enfield Road, Blackpool.
Paul Docherty, defending, said of his client: "She is ashamed of the humiliation she has brought on her parents and children. They have not been in good health but have been able to support her. She is acutely aware of how it will affect them."
