SAFETY inspectors are still waiting to complete an interview with a man more than six weeks after he was caught in an explosion.
Albert Heys, 54, was removing asbestos from Livesey Court flats, Mill Hill, Blackburn, when it is believed the gas-powered machine he was using ignited and set him alight.
Mr Heys, from Bolton, was taken to Blackburn Infirmary with 50 per cent burns and later transferred to the Preston Royal Hospital.
Experts said they had only been able to start initial interviews due to the extent of his injuries but were hoping to continue when he recovers. A spokesman for the health and safety executive said: "We are still awaiting a technical report on the equipment involved."
Doctors today described Mr Heys as "doing quite well".
