JOHN Coleman takes his side to Hyde on Saturday seeking for the consistency that has been missing in recent games.

The Stanley boss has been happy with the way his side has been playing but believes they can improve -- and that will come with more consistent performances.

He said: "In recent games we have not got the results our performances have warranted. But overall, we have to be more consistent -- and that is something I will be looking for."

Stanley have held been held to draws in their last two games -- 2-2 against Colwyn Bay and 1-1 against Runcorn -- against sides Coleman believes his team should normally beat.

He puts that down to the conditions.

He added: "I'm not making excuses because it is the same for all teams. But it does seem to level teams out. So when you are an attacking team like us who likes to pass the ball then you do struggle."

Coleman praised new signing Simon Carden who he believes has a good future at the Crown Ground. The central midfield player, signed from Ratcliffe Borough, made a scoring start on his full home debut against Runcorn.

He said: "Simon had a very good game and I was pleased that he scored on his home debut. He has settled in well and I think he has got a very good future here."

Stanley are injury problems going into the game with three players all doubtful while Mark Shirley underwent a knee operation this week and will be out for a further four to six weeks. Paul Burns (groin), Mark Patterson (knee) and striker Gary Williams (ankle/flu) look likely to miss the trip.

Hyde's dangerous striker Simon Yeo poses the biggest threat to Stanley -- but Coleman will not be making any special plans to contain him. He said: "Yeo is a good player who I have seen a few times. But we will be concentrating on our game and not worrying about the opposition -- that's what we do for every match." AIMS: John Coleman
