DETECTIVES in Blackburn are still hunting the occupants of a car which failed to stop after colliding with an elderly woman on a zebra crossing.
Doris Atherton, 83, of Higson Street, Blackburn suffered serious head and chest injuries in the accident which happened in Montague Street, close to Johnston Street, at 2pm on December 13.
She is being treated at Blackburn Royal Infirmary where her condition was described as"improving".
Police want to trace a blue Seat Ibiza or possibly a black Volkswagen Polo or Vauxhall Nova involved in the accident.
A police spokesman said: "If anyone knows who these people are or who this car belongs to we would urge them to contact us."
