BURNLEY College held a celebration of achievements in the sciences and humanities department.
Over 100 students, friends, families and staff met for the presentation of certificates together with college governor Jim Sutcliffe, principal John Smith and head of division Chris Keogh.
The division had an extremely successful year with a 94 per cent pass rate for full-time A-level students and a 100 per cent success rate in BTEC sports studies. Part-time students achieved a 73 per cent pass rate in GCSE subjects with a 100 per cent success in Spanish and psychology. One third of the BA Combined Honours students passed all their modules with first-class and upper second-class honours.
The event in the college lecture theatre ended with the presentation of an award for outstanding achievement in sport to Mark Brown, second-year HND student, who won a silver medal in the Sydney 200 Paralympics marathon.
