A MAN from Newton-le-Willows has appeared before magistrates in St Helens on six offences of dishonestly making false statements in order to obtain housing and council tax benefit.
He pleaded guilty and was given a 12 month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £50 costs. The case was brought by the council's "fraud team".
