FIREFIGHTERS closed off part of a town centre street to traffic and pedestrians after strong winds loosened a large sheet of lead on top of a turret of the old SmithKline Beecham building, next to St Helens College.
Westfield Street was cordoned off from 2.30pm on Wednesday, December 13 while emergency services removed the sheet and made the area safe again.
