ROVERS are to operate a "kid for a quid" scheme for the forthcoming FA Cup clash with Chester City.

The club today announced reduced admission prices for the third round clash with the Conference side at Ewood Park on Saturday, January 6, 2001.

But, while all prices have come down, the biggest benefits go out to families with children (under 16s) being allowed entry for just £1.

Rovers chief executive John Williams said: "We have a run of five home matches in under three weeks, starting on Boxing Day, and are well aware of the strain this can put on family finances particularly over the Christmas period.

"Hopefully, the decision to reduce all prices and only charge children one pound, will help people to attend. I have spoken with Chester chairman Terry Smith and he is in full agreement with our proposal."

Adult prices have been reduced to £15 in all areas along with senior citizens (down to £7) and young adult season ticket holders (down to £7).

Tickets are now on sale and season ticket holders have until December 31 to claim their own seats.
