AN animal sanctuary has welcomed its latest arrival -- a six-month old pony called Wendy.
The 38 ins high foal is said to be making himself at home at the Only Foals & Horses Sanctuary, in Oswaldtwistle.
Wendy has had a short yet traumatic life. Having been separated from her mother and barely weaned she was attacked by another pony.
Co-ordinator at the sanctuary Olive Lomas said she hoped Wendy will befriend Tinkerbell, a five month old foal, and the two will become firm friends when Wendy is fully recovered from her ordeal.
Visitors wanting to see any of the animals are welcome between 1pm and 4pm.
