WYRE Sharks Swimming Squad achieved a fantastic joint second place in the second round of the National Speedo League North West.
There were great wins for the boys under 11 freestyle relay squad and Joshua Ross winning the 13 and under medley relay.
Superb wins by Rennie Whittaker in the breaststroke and butterfly, Lisa How in the open age group at the same strokes, Jenny Westworth in the under 11 backstroke, Andrew Hodgson for the under 13s backstroke and Lisa Birtwistle and Luke O'Dea for the under 11s freestyle ensured Wyre Sharks a place in the final with still one gala to go.
The B squad also came second in their gala with individual wins by Sarah Roberts, Katy Burke and Victoria Crawford along with five relay wins from the 16 races in the gala. A superb all round effort produced a thrilling finish with the Sharks just pipped by Wrexham.
