I HAVE to take issue with some of Neil Bramwell's views (December18).

The point about the Kevin Ball challenge has been laboured. It certain wasn't a premeditated challenge as he suggested.

Was it on the same scale as those committed by a certain Mr Souness in his playing days?

He also said Ball's challenge was "powered by 17 years of hurt and frustration."

What sort of a comment is this? It's bound to wind Burnley fans up -- but look at the facts.

Bally joined about five months ago. He comes from Hampshire. Do you really think he was indoctrinated as a matter of initiation?

Perhaps Bramwell didn't hear the despicable "Yorkshire", "Dingle", "You never won anything" chants by those renowned football brains who actually came to support Blackburn?

I'm not naive enough to think that that sort of stuff does not bait Burnley fans. It's shocking and should be exposed as such.

You gave no mention to what Stan Ternent did before and indeed during the game to take the initiative away from the mindless few.

That's truly shameful as Stan has been superb throughout.

I for one will support him in any way I can to make things more civilised.
