ON Christmas Eve there is an orienteering event at Ogden near Halifax. Organiser is Phil Thompson on 01226-770911.
Road and fell runners are both catered for on Boxing Day. At the Crofters, Leyland Lane, Leyland there is a 10K road race starting at 10:30am while at Rawtenstall, the Whinberry Naze Dash starts at 11:30am from Marl Pits. It is 4.5m long, climbs 750' and for maximum enjoyment both races should be tackled in fancy dress.
Wednesday 27th sees the Lancaster and Morecambe Festive 4K Fun Run. This starts at 11am from Lancaster Moor Hospital S&SC. At Ambleside on the same day the Wansfell event starts at noon from the Salutation Hotel. It is only 2.5miles but climbs 1400'. Registration is at the Old Grammar School at the top of Stock Ghyll Lane. Diary: December
