A MAINTENANCE worker had a lucky escape when he got his head caught in machinery.
The man, who works for Girling Engineering in Radcliffe, was carrying out maintenance and repair work at the Polyflor factory when the accident happened.
Fortunately, quick-thinking colleagues managed to free him with a crow bar.
The man had been working on a grinding machine when he broke the sensor and triggered a roller.
He suffered bruising and a black eye but was released from Bury General Hospital after a few hours.
Saturday's (Dec 16) incident is being investigated and the Health and Safety Executive have been contacted.
