A CHANCE encounter on holiday has led to a wheelchair winging its way from Bury to Pakistan.
During a recent trip to Pakistan the treasurer of Bury Shopmobility, Mr Mirza Hamed, spotted a young boy badly in need of a wheelchair.
He befriended him and, on his return, asked Shopmobility if one of its spare wheelchairs could be sent out to the little boy.
One was found and last week the gift was flown out.
Pictured with the Pakistan-bound wheelchair are (from left): Mr Hamed, Mr Peter Taylor, a volunteer helper for Bury Shopmobility, and Mr Andy O'Hara, manager of Shopmobility.
Now, thanks to their generosity, the youngster will be given a new chance of life and a vital aid to improve his mobility.
