"POST haste" was the message when Bury Mayor Bill Johnson popped into Wellington Street sorting office early on Wednesday morning (Dec 20).
He saw at first hand how staff were coping with the annual deluge of cards just before the last posting date yesterday (Thurs Dec 21).
Post Office branches will be open as normal tomorrow (Sat Dec 23) and some which normally open on Sundays will still do so on Christmas Eve.
All branches will re-open on Wednesday December 27. Pension and benefit payments due on December 25 and 26, can be collected in advance this week.
Branches will remain closed on New Year's Day, opening up again on Tuesday January 2. Pension and benefit payments due on January 1 can be collected from December 27 onwards.
