ATLANTIC yachtswoman Rosie Swale found herself on dry land when she addressed more than 100 local businessmen women.
Rosie, who is also a keen runner and horse rider, was the guest speaker at the annual Christmas luncheon of Bolton and Bury Chamber.
More than 100 people, representing the business community of both towns, attended the event staged at Bury Town Hall's Elizabethan Suite.
In her address, Rosie told how she ran 1,000 miles across Iceland without any back-up or support.
And in her determination to take part in an Icelandic marathon, she completed the last four days of her gruelling journey, complete with a 21 kilos back-pack, in just four days.
Rosie (54), told the guests she didn't considering running until she had reached 50s and described herself previously as the most unathletic person possible.
She relayed some marvellous adventures during her speech and had the guests enthralled with tales of her sporting life.
Rosie was introduced by Chamber president David Arkwright who highlighted pending changes in the business support organisation's activities.
He focused on the Chamber's forthcoming de-merger from Business Link and its Training and Enterprise work next April to press ahead with a remodelling to launch a new and exciting programme of business activities.
