PRESTWICH woman Amanda Glanfield certainly knows the beauty of launching a new business.
For the 29-year-old is now on the road with her new mobile beauty therapy enterprise.
Amanda, of Heywood Road, has left behind figures at the insurance company she previously worked for to concentrate on figures of a different kind.
"I am now involved in beauty therapy, body massage, nail extensions and manicures," she said.
Her new business trades under the name of Tairis, which is Gaelic for relaxation.
Amanda admits it was a big step to decide to set up in business on her own.
"The main reason why I've done this is because, quite simply, I wanted to work for myself.
"I wanted to provide a service which I've always been interested in and enjoy doing and now that's exactly what has happened."
To help equip her with the necessary skills, Amanda attended Bury College and passed her course to achieve a National Vocational Qualification (Level 3) in body massage.
"I did this course one day a week over a year, all in my spare time," she says. "And I certainly found it very worthwhile."
Now, the businesswoman is involved in a marketing exercise to help publicise her beauty therapy treatments.
She is also offering wedding packages, discounts at certain times of the year, allied to reduced prices for people aged over 60.
Although she will be primarily travelling to visit clients, for their convenience, Amanda is also working from home.
