ACCRINGTON Stanley hope to give Emley a repeat show of the 3-1 drubbing inflicted earlier this season.

John Coleman's side visit the league leaders in tomorrow's UniBond Premier match hoping for their first win in four games.

There are doubts over the fitness of striker Gary Williams and Mark Brennan, who sustained a calf injury in Saturday's 3-3 draw at Hyde United.

Coleman said: "Emley are top of the league but we have given them a drubbing already this season and we hope to do it again."

The game is a warm-up for the sides' clash in the FA Umbro Trophy next month.

"It gives us a chance to have a look at them," said Coleman. "We will go there confident after recent performances."

Stanley are unbeaten in five but haven't won in three games, so the manager is looking for an improvement in results.

"You can look at it both ways," he said. "The glass is either half full or half empty: we haven't won in three but we haven't lost in five.

"I think we are playing quite well at the moment and deserved to get something out of those games."

New-boy Simon Carden, a 'four-figure' signing from Radcliffe Borough, has settled in well.

"He scored on his debut and will be a good signing for this club," said Coleman. "There is competition for places up front. Mark Ceraolo and Paul Mullin are playing well together, they have got a bit of a partnership going, and Gary Williams has been playing out on the wing.

"And I have got a young lad called Jimmy Bell on the sidelines who is pushing the lads all the way," joked Coleman, referring to his assistant manager Bell.

Accrington travel to Bamber Bridge, again in the league, on Boxing Day, a tie which Coleman says will be a typical local derby.

"I wouldn't say there was particularly bad feeling between the sides but everyone wants to do well against their local rivals. We will want to win that one."
