AGRICULTURE Minister Nick Brown, appearing on a recent edition of "On the Record" on BBC1, was asked whether Britain should ban French beef. Mr Brown replied, and I quote: "It would be wrong to get into bilateral trade wars, state by state".
Notice the last three words of his statement . . . "state by state", not "country by country".
Presumably, by that reference, Mr Brown believes Britain to be a state of Europe.
I wonder how he reconciles that belief with Mr Blair's denial that there are any plans for the creation of a European "Superstate".
