AS an old age pensioner of 70, I must congratulate Blackburn with Darwen Council on writing off £1 million of debts in council tax and rents (LET, January 10) -- after giving me and other allotment holders four weeks' notice to quit or pay an extra £20 rent, making it £50, which a lot of us can ill afford.
