A SUPERMARKET was evacuated after a member of staff smelled smoke.
Firefighters were called to Kwik Save, Brook Street, just after 1pm yesterday sun.
They found a piece of scrap wood had been leaned against a heater flue in a plant room and was starting to smoulder.
Customers and staff were evacuated until the building was made safe.
The store was not busy and no more than 20 people were involved.
The plant room suffered slight smoke damage. No one was hurt.
