Note-y boy NIK Michopoulos has turned in a string of magnificent performances for the Clarets in recent weeks.

But it's not just in goal where the Greek international hits the right note.

Turf Moor Beat can reveal that Michopoulos is also a talented guitarist.

My sources in Greece confirm that the Burnley favourite is a highly accomplished player -- with Greek music a speciality.

BURNLEY couldn't be accused of a lack of preparation as they crashed out of the FA Cup on penalties at Scunthorpe.

The Clarets were hamstrung by the absence of Andy Payton and Paul Cook, who had to watch the drama from the bench.

But it's not as if the rest of the squad have never tried their luck from 12 yards.

"We do work quite a bit on penalties. On Fridays most of the boys end up taking one and we're usally pretty good. Steve Davis is usually the banker, but that's the way it goes," explained Glen Little, who managed to convert his effort in the Glanford Park shoot-out.

Crying shame DIEHARD Clarets fan Alistair Campbell managed to keep things in perspective during the Government's Peter Mandelson crisis this week.

Labour spin doctor Campbell, a central figure in the story that ended with Mandelson's resignation from office, said: "The only time I've cried in the past 24 hours was when I listened to Radio Five and Burnley missed their sixth penalty."

THERE was little chance of Burnley slipping quietly out of the FA Cup as their defeat at Scunthorpe was broadcast live on no less than FOUR different radio stations.

Farr out WISHFUL thinking. A report on Bolton's cup prospects on the Teamtalk website on Thursday ran: "Gareth Farrelly is expected to be fit for Sunday's FA Cup tie against Burnley after missing the victory over Sheffield Wednesday last weekend."

FORMER Burnley youngster Derek Adams continues to make a good impression north of the border with Motherwell and has just signed a new contract with the Scottish Premier League club.
