A NEW updated companies register has been launched by Pendle Borough Council.
Designed to encourage businesses to register their services and products, the register lists all companies in the borough alphabetically, providing information such as company name, contact details, activity and an indication of the number of employees. It focuses on businesses in the manufacturing sector which employs more than 45 per cent of the borough's 27,651 workers.
Business support and develop- ment officer John Halton said: "The register is widely recognised as the most accurate source of information on who is manufacturing what in the Pendle area. It is an important tool in encouraging Pendle businesses to source products and services locally."
The register is now available from Pendle Business Centre, in Nelson, on disc as a Microsoft Word document as well as the traditional spiral bound booklet, both costing £7.50.
