BACUP 1 CHADDERTON 2

BACUP boss Brent Peters was left fuming after his Bacup side gave away a late goal and all three points in NWCL Division Two.

Chadderton went ahead as early as the seventh minute after Jimmy Gemmill, playing against his former club, gave away a silly free kick on the edge of the area. Keeper Potts had the kick covered but it bounced up in front of him and went in.

For the rest of the half Bacup controlled the game but failed to make too many clear chances. Only Scott Gilchrist forced a save from the Chadderton keeper.

Midway through the first half Bacup drew level after good work from Nicky Taylor down the right. John Garrick rose for the cross and Paul Wayne fired in the loose ball.

Late in the game, the visitors launched a hopeful ball over the Bacup defence after Gilchrist was dispossessed and the Chadderton forward fired home.
