EARLY birds were out in force for the inaugural meeting of the newly-launched Bury Breakfast Club.

And when fully established, the independent organisation will be a prime source of networking for members of Bury's thriving business community.

Around 18 people attended the initial meeting of the club, held at Bury's new Businesslodge in the town's Barcroft Street.

During the informal gathering, they enjoyed a European-style meal and were able to mix business with breakfast.

The aims of the new club are two pronged, to highlight the accommodation and services of Businesslodge and to provide a social and networking framework for businessmen and women.

Organiser Mrs Joanna Mawdsley said: "Around 18 people attended the first meeting and I'm sure the attendance will be much better the next time.

"The main aim is to publicise what is available at Businesslodge and in the future things will settle down to become more of a networking event."

For small start-ups who have taken up occupancy at the new premises, Bury Breakfast Club will be instrumental in putting them in touch with other businesses in and around the town.

The next meeting of Bury Breakfast Club will be on Wednesday, March 7 between 7.0-8.30am.
