A DETACHED Atherton house, once earmarked as a children's home, can be converted in to self-contained flats for the elderly. An application at Oaklea, a Victorian home on Leigh Road, by Mr J Farrell to convert the building to five flats for people over 60 was passed by Wigan planners.
