SO the subject of asylum seekers is back in the news. It just won't go away, will it?

With a massive 100,000 people coming to the United Kingdom last year it is hardly surprising that there is so much fuss. The cost of this is more than £600 million.

And the fact that four out of five applications turns out to be bogus just goes to show what a racket this whole business is. It is no wonder that so many people are feeling let down, including some genuine immigrants who obeyed the rules and came here legitimately.

I don't know about anyone else, but I for one want to see the bogus asylum seekers kept out, just as much as I want to see the genuine refugee cared for.

The Labour Government tells us that they don't know how many asylum seekers have gone "underground". Is this comment supposed to instill confidence in our immigration policies, which have already become the laughing stock of Europe? Britain has become a soft touch for those "on the make".

Thank goodness for the common sense spoken by Conservatives on this issue. At least somebody is listening to what ordinary people are saying.
