LIBRARIANS found a book containing a rasher of bacon left in as a bookmark.

It has gone on display as part of a collection of 100 unusual markers returned in the past five years -- including toast, travellers' cheques, a passport and a £10 note.

At Leigh Library they tell me they find bits of string, wool, pieces of paper -- and worst of all a condom!

But that's not the biggest crime, it's smacked hands to anyone who bends the corners of pages over.

In second hand books I've found a silk commemorative bookmark from a death in 1917 and a naughty picture -- I presume of the previous owner.

Have you found anything unusual, let me know?
