TWO members of Burnley Youth Theatre decided to turn the tables after years of being at the receiving end of directors.

Liam Greenfield and Imran Anwar, both 19, took on the challenge of adapting, casting, directing, producing and designing John Lee's classic Kidzplay, which started yesterday .

Once a year the Youth Theatre offers senior members this opportunity which Liam and Imran were only too pleased to take on.

Artistic director Jacky Riddell commented: "The quality of BYT participant directed productions and the enthusiasm and commitment of the young directors never fails to amaze us.

"Kidsplay is no exception and I'm sure the hands-on insight into directing and producing will equip Liam and Imran with invaluable and unforgettable skills and experience."

The play about a day in the life of a group of eight to 10-year-olds offers a fascinating and dramatic journey back to the days of childhood.

Youth Theatre members aged from 13 to 16 are taking part and the show will be performed at the Quarry Theatre, Queens Park Road, Burnley, again today and Saturday.

Tickets are £3.50 and £2.50 and are available from BYT on 01282 427767. IN CHARACTER: Young actors, clockwise from left, Gemma Rooke, Siobhan Cooley, Lily Cooper and Chris Boulton get into costume in a dress rehearsal
