Clarets boss Stan Ternent has once more vented his fury at Trinidad and Tobago as defender Ian Cox looks likely to miss a second game because of international commitments.

The 29-year-old played in his country's World Cup qualifying defeat in Jamaica on Wednesday but Ternent has heard nothing about Cox since -- and blames the Trinidad football authorities.

"Coxy will come back, he's not that sort of a lad, but it's up to them to get him there and get him back.

"I don't know where he is. I haven't got an itinery from manager Ian Porterfield or his agent.

"All I know is that he was selected to play for Trinidad against Jamaica and he was flying out last week."

Ternent was Porterfield's first team coach at Chelsea but the relationship has deteriorated with the current situation.

Cox did fly home straight after the Trinidad loss and, although the Clarets chief did rule him out of tomorrow's game at Portsmouth, he may have a rethink if Cox had arrived back in time to pick up the coach which was leaving Turf Moor at 12pm.

And Ternent is still fuming that his influential central defender missed last Saturday's victory over Huddersfield -- while Dwight Yorke was allowed to play for Manchester United.

With further World Cup qualifiers coming up, Ternent is keen to sort it out.

"There's rules for some and rules for others.

"Dwight Yorke stayed to play for his club but me, Harry Redknapp, and all the other managers, our players have to go out on a manager's whim.

"It is an absolute mickey mouse circumstance and it certainly can't be right in my view.

"The Vice Chairman of FIFA Jack Walker, he is the main man, he has kindly agreed to have a meeting with us on behalf of Trinidad and Tobago but it leaves a lot to be desired.

"We have to pay our player and insure him to play for some tinpot outfit!"
