BURNLEY striker Ian Moore wants Stockport to beat the drop but will have no qualms about firing them to defeat tonight.

Moore returns to Edgeley Park for the first time since his £1 million move to the Clarets last November to go head-to-head with friend and County skipper Mike Flynn.

But Burnley's record buy admitted there'll be no old pals' act.

He said: "I've never played against Mike before and it will be a challenge for me and hopefully I will come out on top.

"I know they are down there but if a chance comes to me I'm not going to go missing on purpose.

"You've got to be deadly and if something happens you've got to score."

Burnley are without an away win since October but Moore added: "We're not worrying about it, although we would like it to come sooner rather than later and hopefully it will come tonight.

"The boys were very disappointed losing at Portsmouth on Saturday so I think we'll be up for it tonight."

Top-scorer Andy Payton is back in the squad after missing Saturday's 2-0 defeat but Glen Little is doubtful with an ankle injury and Gordon Armstrong is suspended.

Ian Cox is set to replace Armstrong but Lennie Johnrose was due to see a specialist today about an Achilles tendon injury and Ronnie Jepson has undergone surgery on a similar problem to keep those two out of contention.
