DARREN John Hillary, 30, of Whitehead Street, Blackburn, was given a conditional discharge for 12 months by Blackburn magistrates after pleading guilty to breaching a restraining order.
The court heard that Hillary made two telephone calls to the home of Mrs Heather Wright, a matter of weeks after the order had been made restraining him from contacting Mrs Wright or her daughter Joanne.
He asked if Joanne would ring him and in the second call, which was recorded on the answer machine, said he knew Joanne had lied in court and that he was seeing his legal team and considering an appeal.
Lisa Worsley, prosecuting, said Mrs Wright felt threatened by the call.
Stephen Parker, defending, said the breach amounted to no more than one sentence directed at the mother of the complainant in the original harassment case.
"There was nothing sinister in the contact he made," said Mr Parker.
"There were no threats and there was no likelihood that the original complainant was going to be spoken to."
