LABOUR agent Councillor Bill Taylor could regret his dismissal of the new Liberal Democrat candidate for Blackburn as 'lightweight' (LET, February 13).
Imtiaz Patel is just the sort of person a lot in Blackburn have been waiting for -- a local man who can work for the town.
The only option open to non-Tories has been Jack Straw (left). It was either vote for him or don't vote at all.
Coun Taylor should keep in mind the local elections when several councillors lost their seats to 'lightweights.' Mr Patel could well give Mr Straw a fright.
