BOLTON manager Sam Allardyce may strengthen his squad as his side now focus fully on sealing a return to the Premiership.

Wanderers struggled against Rovers, having two shots on target all night and Allardyce is keen to get them out of a poor run of form.

This begins against struggling Gillingham as they bid to get their promotion charge back on track.

"You look at the size and strength of the Blackburn squad and you have to say it is much better than ours," admitted the Wanderers chief.

"Away from home we have been difficult to beat but not in this game.

"We can't buy a goal at the moment.

"We need to start defending as a unit again as we have lost that kind of solidarity.

"We are on a bad run by our standards and need to get a win against Gillingham."

Allardyce also hinted he might try and strengthen his squad before transfer deadline day.

"Just now Blackburn have more than us.

"We have 11 matches left and perhaps we need to get a player or two into the club," he said.

Bolton were overrun by Rovers despite defending doggedly in the first half.

After the interval, the cracks began to appear.

"It was extremely disappointed with out performance in the second half," continued Allardyce.

"We started well and then lost direction and Blackburn heaped the pressure on us.

"Blackburn's confidence and form are much better than ours and we couldn't cope with what they had to offer us.

"The only consolation we can take out of the game is that we didn't lose three valuable points.

"We must win against Gillingham and get over the worst run we have had all season."
