Frank Endacott, Wigan Chief Coach, writes every week for our wwwthisisleigh.co.uk website EVERYONE at the JJB Stadium is looking forward to another Friday night Tetley's Bitter Super League clash and this weekend we have the mighty Leeds Rhinos on our doorstep.

It should be a thrilling match. Leeds are playing some fantastic rugby league at the moment and are in great form which has seen them unbeaten in the Tetley's Bitter Super League competition so far and they meet St Helens next week in the semi-finals of the Silk Cut Challenge Cup.

This week, we have had Bolton Mets head coach Rick Brookes in our camp, observing how we prepare for a top Super League match. He came to us at the start of the week and has watched how we train in the gym and has taken notes on some of the drills that we carry out on specific areas of our game.

He says that the Bolton Mets Club is booming at the moment and that almost 40 people have been training on a weekly basis. This figure has risen dramatically in the last few weeks, and there have been a number of youngsters included in that figure too.

Via this column I would like to praise the BEN for the coverage they have given to the Mets in recent weeks. This has obviously raised the awareness of the club which is now flourishing. Even SKY TV did a feature on Rick whilst he was here so Rugby League is definitely on the up in Bolton.

If every Super League club was to adopt a neighbouring area like we have at Wigan via our media manager Lee Addison, then before we know it the sport would be played throughout the country.

There are so many bad distractions for youngsters these days that, anything that anyone can do to help these amateur sports clubs is surely a step in the right direction.

Well Done to the BEN and well done to the Mets!

Keep Smiling
