YOUNGSTERS certainly dug deep to raise more than £1,000 for the NSPCC.
The children of Springside Primary School were given an envelope to take home and collect donations from family.
Some pupils even gave their pocket money to the charity.
Pam Smith, NSPCC area organiser, has the splendid task of visiting the school to receive a welcomed £1,000 cheque.
