ADVENTUROUS folk from Leigh are being invited to take their pick of daring ways to raise cash for charity.

Three national charities are asking folk to get sponsorship to take part, for free, in extreme sports.

There is an invitation from The British Lung Foundation to abseil 90ft inside the Manchester Velodrome stadium in April -- the only Olympic cycling track in Britain.

The National Deaf Children's Society has organised freefall 10,000ft parachute jumps at various venues across the country.

And the Meningitis Research Foundation is also asking for daredevils to take part in 10,000ft parachute jumps.

For more information on the events ring The British Lung Foundation on 0151 228 4723 before April 20 or Helen Plummer at the Meningitis Research Foundation on 01454 280412 or the National Deaf Children's Society on 020 7490 8656.
