THREE children and an adult were taken to hospital suffering from the effects of smoke after a mattress fire at their Atherton home.
The fire is thought to have started after a child playing with a cigarette lighter set fire to a bed.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus tackled the blaze at 6.30am today.
