ATHERTON LR matched league leaders Nelson all the way in a cracking 2-2 away draw despite missing several key players.
After going behind on five minutes to a 35 yard stunner, LR hit back through Barry Massey following good work by Mike Rhead. Injuries to Neil Wright and Liam Boden further hampered Rovers and Nelson again took the lead.
Two minutes from time man of the match Barry Massey hit a thunderbolt for the leveller.
Tomorrow night LR travel to Bacup.
