ACTOR Louis Emerick has helped launch a new Barnado's video aimed at giving the chance of a new life to disabled children in St Helens.
Louis, who plays Mick Johnson in the Channel 4 soap 'Brookside', appears on the video entitled 'What Have You Done Today' which will be used to help find long-term foster carers and short-term break carers to provide homes for children with severe disabilities.
During his introduction to the video, he talks of his own childhood experience of being adopted and the importance for all children of growing up in a secure and loving family.
Full support and training is given to all would-be foster carers, who receive an allowance for the care of the child. Previous experience is not essential. Barnado's is also keen to hear from foster carers from black and ethnic minority communities.
Anyone interested in becoming a foster carer can ring Barnardo's on 0151 488 0822.
