CRIME-busting villagers in Sabden have cut through the red-tape and bureaucracy and bought their own spy in the sky.
While neighbouring Clitheroe and Whalley search for funding towards running their Home Office funded system, Sabdeners enlisted the long arm of the law in the form of local PC Paul Worswick to help them collect money locally to install a camera in the village centre.
A house to house collection raised £1,800. Local businesses donated too and Lancashire Constabulary's Eastern Division's community safety department gave £200.The camera will provide 24-hour coverage of the whole of the village and has the full backing of the parish council and local neighbourhood watch co-ordinators.
