CUSTOMERS at a Grindleton pub can expect the perfect tipple after it won national praise for its wine list.
Kathryn and Jeremy Williams of the Duke of York, in Brow Top, were delighted their pub has been listed in the 'highly commended' section of the Pub Food magazine wine list survey.
Only 15 out of 580 lists received the accolade, judged on the range offered, the extent of notes describing the wines, suggestions for wine and food matching, the general appearance, the ability to display enthusiasm and pricing.
Kathryn said: "This is our 10th year at the pub and we've worked hard to ensure the standard of the pub and the service we offer.
"We have designed our wine list to offer customers a balanced selection, including some very good new world wines which are reasonably priced."
Alan Richardson, pubmaster regional manager, said: "Nowadays to drink beer is not the only reason people visit our pubs.
"The Duke of York recognises the importance of providing a wide range of drinks, good food and a friendly atmosphere."
