A GRADE II listed mill in Stacksteads which was badly damaged by fire in January is set to be redeveloped.
Nunn Hills Mill, Blackwood Road, Stacksteads, was used by two firms before the fire. Stylegleam used the premises as a shoe and clothing store and Calder Marketing also had premises.
An application to delist the building has been made and a report from heritage officer Mick Onley will go before tonight's engineering and planning sub-committee.
He has sent a letter to English Heritage to advise that his recommendation to council would be not to object to the request to delist.
He says: "I consider that ill-considered alterations and repairs over the years have detracted from the architectural qualities of the mill.
"The recent fire has caused further loss. It is my opinion that the value of the remaining historic fabric is outweighed by the consideration of achieving some beneficial redevelopment of this site."
