STEPHEN Cummings' column (LET, April 2) gave me a sneaking suspicion that he never actually attended the Rovers v Burnley game, but chose instead to sit at home with the telly and radio both switched off and fingers crossed, hoping for the best.
This must be the case if he can say "Lady Luck" played her part in this 5-0 thrashing. It must have been halfway through his column before he made any reference to the game itself.
Never did he admit how far superior the Rovers were. This was a right hammering -- Burnley were outplayed, out-thought and outclassed by a top quality side.
Be a man, Steve, and give credit where it's due.
