WITH the Clarets more or less safe, why not give young players Anthony Shandran and Bradley Maylett an extended run in the first team until the end of the season?
These two, I believe, have a great chance of going on to bigger things.
Anthony Shandran has scored goals for the reserves regularly and made a substitute appearance at Crewe in February.
Young Bradley Maylett has been on the fringe of the first team for nearly two years, but has only started one game -- at Preston earlier in the season.
He has proved he can be a handful for any defender when he is on the right wing. He reminds me of Willie Morgan at his best -- good old fashioned right winger; a rare breed these days.
These two youngsters deserve a decent run as they have proved themselves at reserve team level.
As the Clarets are playing out the season, as it were, there is nothing lost at all in giving these two young lads a chance in the first team to give them the experience.
